No. 5 Fencing Goes 4-1 at First Day at Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. - In the first day of the Northwestern Multi Meet, the No. 5 Temple fencing team went 4-1. The Owls' only loss came in a close match against No. 1 Princeton.

Meet Summary
> The Owls opened the day with a 17-10 defeat of Stanford.
> Temple fell 14-13 to Princeton before bouncing back with victory over Cornell.
> The team closed out the day with wins over UC San Diego and Farliegh Dickinson.

Individual Highlights
> The epee squad went an undefeated 5-0 on the day.
> Marielle Luke and Naomi Ross went 10-2 and 11-3, respectively, to lead the epeeists.
> Sabre went 4-1, falling only to Princeton. 
> Malia Hee led the sabrists, with her lone loss of the day coming against the Tigers.
> Kennedy Lovelace went 7-5 to lead the foil squad.
