Big 5 Title on the Line Sunday as Men’s Basketball Hosts Villanova

PHILADELPHIA – Temple (13-11, 2-1 Big 5) will look to clinch a share of the Philadelphia Big 5 championship and extend its city-series record to 28 titles with a win over #15 Villanova Sunday (1 pm/ESPN/1210 AM WPHT) in front of a sold out Liacouras Center crowd. The Wildcats (18-6, 3-0 Big 5), who have won five of the last six championships outright, have already clinched a share of their 27th title.

> Temple, under the direction of first-year head coach Aaron McKie, has posted two straight come-from-behind wins to improve to 13-11 overall, 5-7 in American Athletic Conference play (7th place).
> Senior guard Quinton Rose leads Temple (2nd AAC) in scoring (16.2 ppg) and assists (3.7 apg/9th AAC) while ranking second in steals (2.0 spg/t-4th AAC). Rose, who is the AAC's all-time leading scorer (1,741 points), is the only players to rank in the Top 10 in the conference in these categories.
> Junior guard Nate Pierre-Louis leads Temple in rebounding (8.1 rpg/5th AAC) and steals (2.0/ 3rd AAC), while ranking second in scoring (11.2 ppg) and assists (3.0 apg).
> Senior Alani Moore II (8.8 ppg) has doubled his offensive output from last year (4.1 ppg) and is tied for second in the AAC in threes per game (2.3) and sixth in three-point percentage (.407).
> Rounding out the normal starting five are sophomore Jake Forrester (8.6 ppg/4.1 rpg) and junior J.P. Moorman II (6.1 ppg), who ranks second on the team in rebounding (5.4 rpg).
> Junior De'Vondre Perry (6.4 ppg), who leads the AAC in three-point percentage (.426), redshirt junior Monty Scott (6.0 ppg) and freshman Josh Pierre-Louis (4.3 ppg) have provided the most impact from the Owls' deep bench. Scott has averaged 19 ppg in the last two games while Perry and Moorman both missed the previous two contests due to injury.
