No. 5 Fencing Hosts Temple Invite for Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 5 Temple fencing team is set for its final meet of the regular season, hosting the Temple Invitational Sunday. The Owls will honor their five seniors, with the recognition set for 1:30 p.m.

Temple is 27-8 in dual competition this season, most recently going 5-0 at the Duke Invitational. The Owls dominated Brandeis and MIT and saw tight wins over host Duke and No. 3 Notre Dame. 

The epee squad went 5-0 in Durham, N.C., going undefeated for the second week in a row. The foil squad went 9-0 against MIT while the epeeists went 9-0 against UNC. 

Margherita Calderaro, Naomi Ross, and Sarah Park went 8-1 in their respective weapons, while Zoe Turner went 11-4 and Malia Hee went 10-2 to lead the saberists. 

Temple will face top-competition on Broad Street, hosting No. 1 Princeton, No. 6 Penn State, No. 8 Penn, John's Hopkins, and St. Johns. Round 1 is set for 8:30 a.m., while Round 5 is set for 4:45 p.m.

All of Temple's action will be featured LIVE on OwlsTV, with one stream available for Strip 1 and another for Strip 2. Meet results will be posted after each round on the 2020 Temple Invitational Results site.
