Gymnastics Travels to George Washington Sunday for Quad Meet

PHILADELPHIA—The Cherry and White will round out its two-meet weekend at George Washington's quad meet on Sunday afternoon. Temple is set to face the Colonials, as well as Northern Illinois and NC State in the Charles E. Smith Center. The meet will be contested on podium and is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
The Owls
> The Owls are led by head coach Josh Nilson, who is in his second season leading the Cherry and White.
> Last time out, the Cherry and White won the Unite for Her "Pink Meet" at the Philadelphia Convention Center on Friday night. Led by a program record 9.95 on bars from senior captain Jazmyn Estrella, the Owls tallied a 194.45, their second highest score of the season. Temple topped Illinois State (193.80), West Chester (192.00), Southern Connecticut State (190.25) and Ursinus (186.25), winning three of the four events.
> The Owls had their strongest performance on beam on Friday, tying their sixth-highest mark in program history with a 48.825. Estrella and junior Delaney Garin led Temple with matching scores of 9.8, sharing the event title. Sophomores Ariana Castrence and Taylor Newland each ranked fourth overall on the event, with scores of 9.75. Junior Jordyn Oster posted a solid 9.725, while freshman Madison Brooks rounded out the rotation with a 9.625.
> Castrence, Garin, senior Jaylene Everett and junior Faith Leary all hold places in the top three of the ECAC individual rankings. Garin ranks second in the conference on beam, while Everett is third on vault and Leary is first on floor. Castrence owns the top spot on vault and in the all-around.
> Brooks was named the ECAC Rookie of the Week for her outstanding performance on vault, bars and beam in Saturday's tri-meet at Bowling Green.
Scouting George Washington
> George Washington is led by Margie Foster-Cunningham, who has been the head coach of the Redbirds for 34 seasons.
> Last time out, George Washington faced Denver on Feb. 16 in a dual meet. The Colonials fell to the Pioneers on the road, 197.425-194.9.
> The squad earned a 48.625 on vault, 48.55 on bars, 48.925 on beam and 48.800 on floor.
Scouting Northern Illinois
> The Huskies are led by head coach Sam Morreale, who has been at the helm of the program for eight seasons.
> The Huskies are coming off a two-week hiatus from competition, as they scored a 196.125 to take first against Eastern Michigan on Feb. 7.
> Northern Illinois posted a 49.000 on vault, 48.825 on bars, 49.325 on beam and 48.975 on floor.
Scouting NC State
> Kim Landrus had led the Wolfpack for the past three seasons.
> Last time out, the Wolfpack hosted Centenary and William & Mary on Friday evening. NC State scored a season-high 196.500 en route to the victory.
> The Wolfpack posted a 48.925 on vault, 49.3 on bars, 49.025 on beam and 49.25 on floor.
