Owls Post Season-High on Floor, Finish Second in Sprouts Farmers Market EAGL Championships

PHILADELPHIA, P.A. - The Temple Owls finished second as they hosted the Sprouts Farmers Market EAGL Championships in the Liacouras Center, posting a score of 195.775. George Washington came on top (195.950) with the University of New Hampshire finishing third (195.700), followed by Towson (195.675) and LIU (194.000).Â
ÂROTATION 1 (VAULT: 48.825)
- The Cherry and White kicked off the Sprouts Farmers Market EAGL Championships with their second-strongest home mark in the apparatus this season, only bested by a 48.900 against Maryland (3/5).
- Amelia Budd started the Owls off with a solid 9.700, followed by a 9.725 and 9.775 from Hannah Weklar and Summer Ruskey.
- Temple continued to ramp up their performance with a 9.800 from Renee Schugman and a 9.825 from Krystin Johnson.
ROTATION 3 (BARS: 48.700)
- Robyn Dunne made her competitive debut on the apparatus, securing a 9.750.
- Weklar added a strong 9.775, matching her score at the Masters Meet (3/15).
- Sarah Stallings led the Owls on the apparatus with a 9.800 in her final meet in front of a home crowd.
ROTATION 4 (BEAM: 48.875)
- Three straight 9.725s from Renee Schugman, Ruskey, and Megan White gave the Cherry and White a solid start on the apparatus.
- Madison Dorunda showed why she deserved to be on the EAGL First Team for Beam with a 9.825, a mark she has met or exceeded six other times this year.
- Brooke Donabedian posted her second-highest mark of the season (9.875), only bested by her 9.925 on Alumni Night (2/8). She was awarded second place in this year's beam championships.
ROTATION 5 (FLOOR: 49.375)
- A season-high and tied-third highest in program history, the Owls left it all out on the floor to push them into a second-place finish.
- Every Owl posted a 9.825 or higher.
- EAGL First Team - Floor for a reason, Kyrstin Johnson provides a stellar 9.900 performance. The mark lifted her to a tied-third-place finish in the floor championships.
- Schugman followed Johnson with a 9.900 of her own, a season-high. She shared the third-place finish with her teammate, as well as Aine Reade from UNH and Delaney DeHaan from GW.
