2020 TUG Awards: MVP

The 2020 MVP is Ariana Castrence!

Hailing from Waldorf, Md., Castrence tied or set new career-bests in all four events and the all-around (VT- 9.875, UB- 9.875, BB- 9.875, FX- 9.9) this season. She also further etched her name in the Temple gymnastics record book on Jan. 18, as she broke the program’s all-around record with a 39.275. Castence was named a five-time All-ECAC award winner, taking the honor on every event and the all-around. She capped her outstanding season by being named the ECAC Athlete of the Year.

Ari has been a game changer on our team since the day she walked through the door. Ari holds the all around record, has 19 event titles this year, and is the ECAC Gymnast of the year. Last year she was the ECAC Rookie of the year as well. She is loved by her team and her coaches, she is humble, and friendly. When we discussed who was the 2020 season MVP, the decision was clear.
