Women’s Basketball Heads to Tulane for Back-to-Back Contests

PHILADELPHIA — The Temple women's basketball team travels to New Orleans, La. to take on Tulane on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. and Sunday, Jan. 31 at 12 p.m. Saturday's contest will be aired on ESPN+ and Sunday's game will be featured on ESPNU.
THE OWLS
> Temple enters Saturday's game with a record of 5-5 (5-2 AAC). The Owls are currently ranked third in the American Athletic Conference.
> The Owls are shooting 38.8% from the floor, 23.4% from three-point range, and 65.5% from the foul line thus far this season.
> Senior Mia Davis leads the Owls with 18.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. So far, the forward has recorded four double-doubles this season.
> Rookie Jasha Clinton is Temple's second-leading scorer with 13.0 points per game, while adding 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.2 steals per game for the Owls. Clinton leads Temple with 16 three-pointers on the year, shooting 30.8% from beyond the arc.

> Saturday's game at Tulane will be head coach Tonya Cardoza's 400th game coaching the Temple Owls.
> Cardoza has coached the most games for the women's basketball program than any other coach in program history. Linda MacDonald, who coached the Owls from 1980-90, holds the second-most games coached with 296.
> Cardoza holds a 232-167 record with a winning percentage of .581 in her 13th season in North Philly.
> She has led the Owls to seven postseason berths, including four NCAA Tournament appearances and a spot in the WNIT Final Four.
> Cardoza is a two-time conference Coach of the Year and four-time Big 5 Coach of the Year.

> Wichita State held the lead until the fourth quarter when the Owls outscored the Shockers 20-6 to come from behind and win their fifth American Athletic Conference matchup.
> Temple took the lead in the fourth quarter after using a 12-2 run through the end of the third and beginning of the fourth.
