Field Hockey Falls at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Temple field hockey team dropped its first conference match of the season Friday afternoon, falling 1-0 at Georgetown.

Recapping the Game
> Defense was the name of the in the first quarter, with neither team allowing a shot.
> Temple had three chances in the second half to find the back of the cage, but a pair of saves from Georgetown kept the game scoreless at the half.
> The Hoyas got on the board in the third quarter, scoring after a penalty corner attempt.
> The Owls looked to find the equalizer in the final 15 minutes, but Tess Muller's shot was saved and Georgetown sealed the win.

Statistically Speaking
> The Temple defense allowed a season-low one penalty corner. Georgetown is fourth in the NCAA in penalty corners per game, averaging 8.11, and this is the first time all season that the Hoyas have earned less than three penalty corners.
> Five Owls fired shots, with Tali Popinko, McKenna Burkhardt, Grace Angelella, Muller, and Cassie Romanczuk all making the attempt. 
> Temple outshot Georgetown 5-2, allowing just one shot on goal.
