PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team dropped its third-straight game with a 2-0 loss to James Madison Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Owls fall to 7-7 (3-2 BIG EAST) on the season.
Recapping the Game
> Temple's best quarter of the game was the first, drawing three penalty corners. The Owls fired seven shots but the JMU keeper made four saves to keep Temple out of the cage.
> JMU scored their first of the day off a deflection on the penalty corner attempt, going up at the 19-minute mark.
> The Dukes scored the go-ahead goal late in the third quarter, with Courtney Lynch finding the back of the cage to seal the win.
> Neither team was able to find much offense in the final frame, and no shots were fired in the fourth quarter.
Statistically Speaking
> The game statistics were fairly even. Temple earning the penalty corner advantage (6-5) but the Dukes firing more shots (11-9).
> Grace Angelella and Kerrie Lorenz led the team with two shots each, with Lorenz putting both of hers on target.
