Women’s Soccer Set to Face UCF In Last Regular Season Road Game

ORLANDO, Fla. – Temple women's soccer (5-6-3, 2-4-0 AAC) will travel to Orlando, Fla. on Sunday, Oct. 24 to take on UCF (7-5-1, 2-3-1 AAC) in their last road match of the regular season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. and will be broadcast live on ESPN+ from the UCF Soccer and Track Complex.
The Owls
The matchup between the Owls and the Knights marks the eleventh time the teams' have met in program history with a contest record of 0-9-1. Their last meeting came in 2020-21, where the Owls dropped to UCF 0-3 in the second game of the season for the Cherry and White. Temple's only program draw came just two years ago in 2019, where the Owls forced No. 21 UCF to a 0-0 double overtime match.
The Owls
- The Owls fell to No. 16 SMU, 2-0 on Wednesday in a hard-fought American Athletic Conference battle at the Washburne Soccer and Track Stadium.
- Last week, forward Hailey Gutowski nabbed Offensive Player of the Week honors from the AAC for the first time in her career. Gutowski is only the third Owl to ever do so behind Kelly Farrell (2015) and current teammate, Emily Kavanaugh (2021). Gutowski has recorded 13 points on five goals and three assists, earning a spot as the team's second leading point and goal scorer.
- Just ahead of Gutowski remains team point leader, Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh has recorded a career high of seven goals and one assist for 15 points on the season. At seven goals, Kavanaugh is one goal away from sneaking into Temple's Top 10 all-time single season goal record
- Playing in 12 games and clocking 1120 minutes this season, Kamryn Stablein remains a force in goal for the Cherry and White, recording 20 saves in past two games. The standout goalkeeper now has 81 total saves on the season, entering the week leading the American Athletic Conference by an 11-save margin.
- UCF enters the match with an overall record of 7-5-1 (2-3-1 AAC), most recently earning the 2-0 win over East Carolina.
- Sitting at sixth in the conference, the UCF offense has showcased its depth this year, with multiple players producing quality points for the Knights. Senior Kristen Scott leads the squad, netting seven goals and two assists for 16 points while junior Ellie Moreno trails just behind dishing out five assists and adding three goals to sit second on the point leaderboard (11).
- Darya Rajaee and Mallory Olsen have proved to be valuable contributors, with Rajaee securing nine points, while Olsen has recorded eight points on four goals.
- Redshirt junior goalkeeper Caroline DeLisle has clocked 1182 minutes in goal, making 70 saves for a 0.843 save percentage to sit at second in the American Athletic Conference in both categories.
- Last year, the Knights went 2-4-1 participating only in conference play due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
