Turner Takes Silver at Temple Open

PHILADELPHIA - Saberist Zoe Turner took home silver at the Temple Open Saturday afternoon, with her second-place finish being the highest for the Owls. It was the first meet of the season for the Owls, with four fencers finishing in the top-15 and two in the top-8.

Meet Results
> Freshman Cindy Long had an impressive debut in Cherry and White, earning an eighth-place finish to lead the epeeists.
> Junior Sarah Park earned a 22nd place finish, while Ashley Cherry's 35th-place finish and Margherita Calderaro's 36th-place finish round out the epeeists.
> Turner earned a second-place finish after falling 15-7 to Vivian Lu in the final bout of the day. Her finish was 11 places higher than her 13th-place finish in the last Temple Open.
> Eva Ventura also had a solid debut as an Owl, finishing 12th in sabre. In foil, freshman Anna Novoseltseva finished 13th as the final Owl to crack the top-15.
> Diana Tiburcio earned a 21st-place finish, while Emma Pincus's 31st place finish and Arwen Gormley's 33rd place finish round out the saberists.
> Cassie Navalta tied for a 24th place finish and grad transfer Brooke Stanicki finished 31st, both in foil.
> In their debuts at the Temple Open, foilists Anastasia Yankovskiy finished 33rd, Constança Dimas finished 34th, and Gretl Merges tied for 46th.
