Men's Crew Races Strong at the Head of the Charles

10.25.21 | Men's Crew

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- The Temple men's crew raced in the lightweight four and collegiate eight at the Head of the Charles on Sunday on the Charles River between Cambridge and Boston, Mass.

Lightweight Four
> In the men's lightweight four, the Owls placed tenth.
> Temple clocked in at 17:38.978 in the head race.

Collegiate Eight
> In the collegiate eight race, the Owls placed fourth in a stacked field of 41 boats.
> Temple clocked in at 15:05.142 in the head race.

From the Coach
> "The Lights improved four spaces from their last visit to Boston," head coach Brian Perkins said. "The men were pleased with the progress but are keeping an eye on bigger goals in May and June. The heavies could not overcome some tactical errors early and (despite improving two spots against a tough field) may have let a gold medal opportunity slip away. One more regatta before the Head of the Floody. We are excited to see what the young group comes up with!"

Up Next
> The Owls will race at the Head of the Schuylkill on October 30th.
