Golf Finishes Fifth at Matthews Auto Collegiate

Apalachin, N.Y. – Temple Golf posted its third top-five finish of the season, finishing in fifth in the 14-team field with an even-par 576 Monday at the Matthews Auto Collegiate.
Recapping the Round
> Conor McGrath led the Owls for the third straight week, shooting a two-under 142 for the tournament to tie for ninth overall. McGrath was one-over for the day with a round of 73, snapping his streak of six rounds at-or-below par for the season.
> Dawson Anders shot his second straight even-par (72) round and finished tied for 17th overall.
> Joey Morganti also shot an even-par 72 for the day and tied Graham Chase for 23rd at a two-over 146.
> Ethan Whitney rebounded from a tough first round to card a one-over 73 Monday. He ended the tournament tied for 64th with an 11-over 155.
> Playing as individuals, Buddy Hansen was five-over for the tournament and tied for 38th while Andrew Curran was tied for 75th with a 158.

> Mount St. Mary's shot a blistering 10-under 278 on the day to win the tournament by eight strokes (-14, 562) over Colgate (570). Cornell (573) was third with host Binghamton (575) edging the Owls for fourth by one stroke.
> Mount St. Mary's Devin Smith was seven-under for the day and 11-under for the tournament to win medalist honors by six strokes over Robbie Herzig (139) of Colgate.

"We played pretty similar to how we played yesterday. We were three shots worse, but I saw today coming yesterday. We were flat. We just did not have it. Everyone played ok, but no one played great."
