PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's gymnastics welcomes three new Owls to the nest to compete in the 2022-23 season. This year's signing class is comprised of Charlie Behner, Reese DeHaan, and Ashley Glynn.
We are looking forward to the strength and talent that this signing class will bring to Temple. We believe they will help us continue building on the last few years of great success that we have had here. Not only is their gymnastics exceptional, they are people of high character and fit in great with our culture!Head Coach Josh Nilson

Charlie Behner signs with Temple out of the Milton, Ga., and trains with Bio Gymnastics. Throughout her time as a Level 10 gymnast, she's added 12 top 10 finishes, including a pair of gold medals in 2021. During the Grant a Wish Classic last January, she tallied her first of two all-around championships while earning a first-place result on the uneven bars and added a pair of second-places on the vault and the beam. A month later, at the Edgewater Classic, Behner added her second first-place all-around championship with a first-place on the bars and second-place finishes on the vault and floor. Scholastically, she excelled, earning a place on the honor roll during her first three years at Cambridge High School.
Charlie is a four-year level ten who excels on bars and the floor. Her gymnastics is fun and exciting to watch. She has a vibrant personality that shows through her gymnastics. Charlie is a hard worker and a great teammate. We expect her to make an immediate impact on bars and floor and work her way into the all-around lineupHead Coach Josh Nilson

Reese DeHaan trains with the Tampa Bay Turners and has been a Level 10 since 2019. The Bradenton, Fla. native has won four of the last five meets in 2021, including wins at the Florida State Meet and the Purple and Gold Meet last March, the Daytona Beach Open in February, and the Atlanta Centennial Classic in January. In her first year as an L10, DeHaan would be voted by her team as the Most Improved as she qualified for the Junior Olympic (JO) Nationals. In addition, DeHaan has been an excellent student in her time at Bradenton Christian Academy, in which she's been a member of the National Honor Society.
Reese is a very powerful gymnast who we recruited especially for her vault and tumbling. She is a four-year Level 10 who has won five of her last eight all-around competitions. She also has won nine event titles in the last eight competitions. She will train in the all-around. In addition, she will help elevate our team's difficulty on vault and floor.Head Coach Josh Nilson

Ashley Glynn is no stranger when it comes to Temple gymnastics. Her parents Donna and Tom competed for the Owls' gymnastics teams during their respective collegiate careers. Coming out of the First State Gymnastics program, Glynn has qualified for Nationals as a Level 10 in 2019 and 2021 as she would finish 13th and 15th, respectively. Last March, during the Christmas City Classic, the Hockessin, Del. native earned one of her five career L10 all-around gold medals. In addition, Glynn would win event honors on the vault, uneven bars, and the floor during the meet. Academically, the Delaware native has maintained honor roll status throughout her time at the Conrad Schools of Science.
Ashley brings strength to our team on all four events. She has been a level ten for six years and is a two-time National Championship qualifier. She will be an alternate for the Region 7 all-star team and has been invited to compete internationally with the team this fall. We expect her to make an immediate impact in the all-around for us.Head Coach Josh Nilson
