Men's Basketball Takes on Elon in Sunday Matinee Game

CHARLESTON, S.C. - Temple will look to snap a three-game losing streak when it takes on Elon in its final game of the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic Sunday. The game will tip off at 10:30 a.m. and be televised live by ESPNU and carried on 1210 AM WPHT.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Khalif Battle leads the Owls and ranks sixth in the AAC in scoring at 17.8 ppg. He also leads the team in field goal percentage (.533), three-point percentage (.458) and threes per game (3.8), ranking in the top 10 in the conference in each category.
> Damian Dunn (11.3 ppg) is the only other Owls averaging double figures.  Dunn is tied for the AAC lead in FT% (15-15, 1.000).
> Tai Strickland (9.8 ppg) is third on the squad in scoring and second in field goal (.500) and three-point field goal (.455) percentage.
> Nick Jourdain (2.3 ppg) leads the team in rebounding (6.8 rpg) and ranks third in the AAC in blocks (2.5 bpg) despite averaging just 20.3 mpg off the bench.
> Jeremiah Williams (4.3 ppg) leads the Owls in assists (3.0 apg,).
> Sage Tolbert III (4.8 ppg/5.5 rpg) and Jake Forrester (4.0 ppg/3.5 rpg) round out the Owls starting five.Â

> Like Temple, Elon dropped its first two contests in the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic, falling to West Virginia (87-68) and Mississippi (74-56).
> Zac Ervin leads a balanced scoring attack that features four starters in double figures with a 14.2 scoring average.
> Darius Burford (12.6 ppg), Hunter McIntosh (10.2 ppg) and Torrence Watson (10.2 ppg) join Ervin in double-digit scoring while fellow starter Michael Graham (8.4 ppg) tops the Phoenix in rebounding (7.0 rpg).
> Ervin (10 three-pointers) and McIntosh (8), a preseason first team all-CAA selection, are the top perimeters shooters with the team averaging 9.8 made per game.
