Men's Basketball Hosts Delaware Saturday Night

PHILADELPHIA - After a trip to the Shriners Children's Charleston Classic, Temple returns to the Liacouras Center for the first of three home games against local rivals Saturday when the Owls take on Delaware (7 pm/ESPN+/1210 AM).
The game against former East Coast and Middle Atlantic Conference rival Blue Hens (4-2) is the nightcap of a busy Temple athletics day that starts with Senior Days for Football against Navy (Noon) and Women's Volleyball vs. East Carolina (1 pm).  Women's Basketball also plays in the area, traveling to Big 5 rival Villanova (2 pm).

SCOUTING TEMPLE
> Khalif Battle leads the Owls and ranks third in the AAC in scoring at 19.8 ppg. He also leads the team in field goal percentage (.533/4th AAC), three-point percentage (.457/t-3rd AAC) and threes per game (3.82/t-2nd AAC).
> Damian Dunn (9.8 ppg) is second in scoring and second in AAC in FT% (17-18, .944).
> Tai Strickland (9.2 ppg) has been a spark off the bench, ranking third on the squad in scoring and second in field goal (.500) and hitting six-of-12 (.500) from 3-point range.
> Jeremiah Williams, who set career highs in scoring (22) and free throws (13-14), ranks fourth in scoring (7.8 ppg) and leads the Owls in assists (4.0 apg./t-5th AAC).
> Nick Jourdain (2.6 ppg) leads the team in rebounding (6.4 rpg) and ranks second in the AAC in blocks (2.0 bpg) despite averaging just 18.8 mpg off the bench.
> Sage Tolbert III (4.6 ppg/6.0 rpg) and Jake Forrester (3.6 ppg/3.3 rpg) round out the Owls starting five.Â

> Delaware, under the direction of head coach Martin Ingelsby, is one of three NCAA Division I programs to return 100 percent of its offense and one of four programs to have four "super seniors" on its roster.
> The Blue Hens, which finished 7-8 last season, added three transfers with one, Jameer Nelson, Jr. (12.0 ppg), making the starting five.
> Fifth-year players Ryan Allen (16.8 ppg, 18 threes) and Dylan Painter (14.7 ppg, 7.0 rpg) lead the team in scoring with Kevin Anderson (9.8 ppg) and Andrew Carr (9.0 ppg) rounding out the starters.
