PRINCETON, N.J. – The Temple women's track and field team competed in their second meet on Sunday, traveling to Princeton, N.J. for the Joe Handelman Invitational.
Christal Pommells stole the show in the 60m event, taking the top spot with a time of 7.75 as four Owls qualified for the final race. Chelby Elam (7.77) was the only other Owl to place in the top-three.
In the triple jump, Tannekee Strachan leaped to an 11.98 mark to take the top spot.
Mary Olayinka Ilelaboye raced to a second-place finish in the 300m, racing to a time of 40.62. Five other Owls also competed in the race.
Deyona Banks competed in the 600m for the Owls, clocking a time of 1:44.55.
Allyson Metzger placed third in the long jump with a mark of 4.94 meters. Shortly after, Amira Green took third place in the high jump.

The Owls take a month off competition as they prepare to take a trip to St. John's after the new year on Jan. 17.
