Davis, Gourdine Earn AAC Player of the Week Awards

PHILADELPHIA - The American Athletic Conference announced today that Temple's Mia Davis and Aniya Gourdine were named AAC Player of the Week and AAC Freshman of the Week, respectively. Davis averaged 18.0 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 week that included wins over Georgetown and Duquesne. She recorded a double-double (14 points, 11 rebounds) against Georgetown, and scored 22 points against Duquesne.
Gourdine averaged 9.0 points per game, 7.0 rebounds per game, and 4.0 steals over the two-game stretch. Gourdine hit the game-winning shot to complete the comeback against Georgetown, and filled up the stat sheet against Duquesne with 10 points, seven rebounds, seven assists, and five steals.
Davis was also named Big 5 Player of the Week for her performances.
