Grimshaw Named to American Weekly Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple junior Gem Grimshaw was named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll on Monday.

Grimshaw paced Temple to a 1-1 start to the conference season. The outside hitter shifted over to the right side position and shined, recording a pair of double-doubles. Grimshaw averaged 4.00 kills, 5.00 points, 2.67 digs, 0.44 aces, and 0.89 blocks per set.

On Friday, she led the Owls in a heartbreaking five-set loss, tallying 18 kills, hitting .359 with 13 digs, four blocks, and two aces. On Saturday, Grimshaw paced Temple in a four-set win, with 18 kills, 11 digs, four blocks, and two aces. She hit .316 for the week and in 30 reception chances, had just one error.

Temple is 5-1 on the season with a 1-1 record in the American. The Owls will host UCF at home on Thursday and Friday.
