Davis and Williamson lead Women’s Basketball Past Tulsa

TULSA, Okla. — Mia Davis and Alexa Williamson each registered double-doubles as the Temple women's basketball team defeated Tulsa 68-46 Wednesday afternoon at the Reynolds Center. The Owls improve to 9-8 (9-5 AAC) while the Golden Hurricane drop to 5-10 (4-10 AAC). 

How It Happened
> Temple had one of their best shooting games of the season, recording a 50.9 field goal percentage and a 33.3 three-point percentage. 
> The Owls scored 42 points in the first half, the most first-half points they have recorded this season. 
> 40 of Temple's 68 points came from the paint. 
> The Owls held the edge in rebounds (43-32), assists (15-11) and blocks (5-0).

Statistically Speaking
> Williamson scored a game-high 18 points and tied for a game high 10 rebounds adding two blocks and two assists.
> Davis also pulled down 10 rebounds and added 17 points, four assists and a steal to her stat line. 
> Freshman Jasha Clinton chipped in 12 points, four assists and three rebounds. 
> Junior Emani Mayo and freshman Kash Ayuso each recorded eight points for the Owls. 

First Quarter: Temple 24, Tulsa 11
> The Owls started the game on a 13-2 run over the opening five minutes. 
> Temple shot 66.7% from both the floor and beyond the arc in the opening frame. 
> Tulsa shot just 16.7% (3-18) as they struggled to put points on the board. 
> The Cherry and White, however, committed four turnovers in the first quarter to give the Golden Hurricane five points off their mistakes.  

Second Quarter: Temple 42, Tulsa 20
> Temple's sharp shooting continued in the second quarter with their field goal percentage of 61.5. 
> The Golden Hurricane was held to just nine points in the second frame, knocking down just 4-of-13 field goals (30.8%). 
> The Owls went up by 22 before the half after a pair of beautiful buckets by Clinton and Davis. 

Third Quarter: Temple 55, Tulsa 33
> Tulsa was scoreless for the first two minutes and 45 seconds while the Owls opened the second half on a 6-0 run. 
> Each team registered 13 points in the third quarter with Temple shooting 38.5% from the floor and the Golden Hurricane shooting 30.8%. 
> Tulsa held a 12-7 advantage on the boards, three of which came on the offensive end. 

Fourth Quarter: Temple 68, Tulsa 46
> Once again, each team collected 13 points in the final quarter. 
> Tulsa jumped out on an 8-2 run before going on a three-minute scoring drought. 
> The Owls ended the game on a 7-2 run, including a foul shot by Janelle Johnson for her first career point.
