Women’s Basketball Welcomes #13 USF for Pink Game

PHILADELPHIA — The Temple women's basketball team welcomes #13 USF to McGonigle Hall on Wednesday, Feb. 24 for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off. The American Athletic Conference contest will be Temple's #Play4Kay game, where both teams will wear various pink gear for Breast Cancer Awareness.
THE OWLS
> Temple returns to McGonigle Hall with a record of 9-8 (9-5 AAC). The Owls are currently ranked fourth in the American Athletic Conference.
> Senior Mia Davis leads the Owls with 18.4 points and 7.8 rebounds per game.
> Davis is eight foul shots away from becoming Temple's all-time leader in made free throws. The current record is 402, set by Feyonda Fitzgerald (2013-2017).
> Rookie Jasha Clinton is Temple's second-leading scorer with 13.0 points per game. The guard adds 3.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.7 steals per game for the Owls. Clinton leads Temple in three-pointers (27) and steals (29).
> Junior Alexa Williamson is the third Owl averaging double-digits this season with 11.8 per game. The Houston, Pa. native boasts a team-best field goal percentage of 49.7% and adds 6.6 rebounds per game for Temple.
> Sophomore Asonah Alexander leads Temple with 5.0 assists per outing. The 5-10 guard is the third-leading rebounder for the Owls, pulling down 6.0 boards per night.
OWLS' LAST TIME OUT: Temple 68, Tulsa 46
> Temple had one of their best shooting games of the season, recording a 50.9 field goal percentage and a 33.3 three-point percentage.
> The Owls scored 42 points in the first half, the most first-half points they have recorded this season.
> 40 of Temple's 68 points came from the paint.
> The Owls held the edge in rebounds (43-32), assists (15-11) and blocks (5-0).
> Williamson scored a game-high 18 points and tied for a game high 10 rebounds adding two blocks and two assists.

> USF is led by head coach Jose Fernandez in his 21st season. Fernandez is one of 15 coaches named to the 2021 Werner Ladder Naismith Women's Coach of the Year Late Season Watch List, as announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Feb. 17.
> USF's only loss came from #4 Baylor in their second game of the season. The Bulls dropped the 67-62 decision at home to the 2019 NCAA Champions.
> In their third game of the season, USF upset #6 Mississippi State at home with a 67-63 overtime victory.
> The Bulls are the only undefeated team in the AAC as they rank first in the conference with their mark of 10-0.
