Men's Basketball Concludes Four-Game Homestand Thursday with Cincinnati

PHILADELPHIA - Temple Men's Basketball concludes its first four-game homestand in 16 years when the Owls host Cincinnati Thursday (7 pm/ESPN2/1210 AM WPHT).  The last four-game homestand occurred during the 2004-05 season with Temple hosting Saint Joseph's, UMass, Rhode Island and La Salle from Feb. 22 through Mar. 5.

The Owls have lost two of the three games in this current homestand, including Sunday against Tulane.

Temple players will be wearing "Coach" patches on their jerseys in honor of legendary coach John Chaney, who passed away on Jan. 29.

SCOUTING TEMPLE

> Redshirt freshman Damian Dunn continues to lead Temple and ranks 10th in the AAC in scoring (14.1 ppg).  He also leads the league and is tied for seventh nationally in free throws made (6.0 pg).
> Sophomore reserve Khalif Battle, who has made a huge impact since coming off an injury, is second in scoring (11.8 ppg) and third in rebounding (5.8 rpg).
> Junior Jake Forrester (10.0 ppg), who has scored in double figures four straight games, tops the team in rebounding (6.7 rp) and ranks third in the AAC in FG% (.596).
> Senior De'Vondre Perry averages 8.3 ppg while freshman Jeremiah Williams (7.6 ppg) tops the Owls and is third in the AAC in assists (5.0 apg).
> Senior J.P. Moorman II (7.7 ppg, 6.2 rpg) rounds out the starters while graduate reserve Brendan Barry (7.6 ppg) ranks second in the AAC in three-point percentage (20-42, .476). 

SCOUTING CINCINNATI
> Cincinnati, which has had its last five games postponed due to COVID-19, has not played since Jan. 10.
> Keith Williams (15.0 ppg) and Jeremiah Davenport (10.1 ppg) lead  the rebuilding Bearcats in scoring .

SERIES HISTORY
>  Temple and Cincinnati are meeting for the 34th time with UC holding a 24-9 lead in the series.
> The Bearcats have won seven straight, winning both games in last season's series.
> The Owls had previously won three straight and swept the regular season series in 2015-16, winning 77-70 at #22/23 Cincinnati on Dec. 29, 2015 and coming out on top in double overtime, 67-65 at home on Jan. 16, 2016.
> Before being members of The American, the last time the teams had met was on Dec. 9, 2006 at the Atlantic City Lenape Trail Classic at Boardwalk Hall. Cincinnati won that game, 80-71.
> Temple won three contests in a row before 2006, each time upsetting Cincinnati as the Bearcats were ranked #11, 4 and 1.
> On Feb. 20, 2000, the 15th-ranked Owls upset top-ranked Cincinnati 77-69 on the Bearcats' home court. It is one of only two wins by Temple over the #1 team in the nation.
> Temple advanced to the Sweet Sixteen on March 14, 1999, after unranked TU topped #11 Cincinnati, 77-69 in the NCAA 2nd Round.
