Fencing to Open 2021 at Ohio State

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple fencing team is set to open its 2021 spring schedule at the Ohio State Multi Meet, facing six programs in two days.

The squad is coming off an impressive season on the strip in 2019-20, earning a program-high No. 5 ranking and qualifying five fencers to the (canceled) NCAA Championships for the first time since 2009. Of the five NCAA Championship qualifiers from last season, two will return for the 2021 season.

Suiting up for their final season in Cherry and White, the team's three seniors will look to start the shortened season off with a bang while leading the underclassmen and six freshmen.

The Owls will compete in the final three rounds of Saturday play, facing Northwestern, Wayne State, and Air Force. Closing out the weekend on Sunday morning, the team will compete against Notre Dame, Duke, and host Ohio State.

Saturday's competition will begin at 1:30 p.m. while Temple will get an early start at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
