Gymnastics Scores Season High 194.850 at Denver

DENVER, Colo. — The Temple gymnastics team held their own in a top-10 matchup on the road, as the Owls scored a season best 194.850 in a tri-meet at Denver. The #5 Oklahoma Sooners won the meet with a 197.800, while #8 Denver finished second with a 196.725.

> The Owls beat their previous season best by more than a point.

Beam
> Temple had a solid start to the meet, opening with a season-best 48.825 on beam, as every Temple gymnast scored a 9.700 or better.
> Freshman Brooke Donabedian led the way with a 9.825, while classmate Renee Schugman hit a 9.775, both standing as career-highs.
> Sophomore Taylor Newland and senior Jordyn Oster scored matching 9.750's followed by junior Ariana Castrence with a 9.725 and classmate Julianna Roland with a 9.700.
Floor
> Temple combined for a 48.725 on floor, led by a 9.825 from Donabedian.
> Schugman contributed a 9.775, while senior Faith Leary and Roland each scored 9.725.
Vault
> It was a 48.725 for the vault squad, the Owls' second highest score of the season.
> Temple put up just five on the event, but all went 9.700 or better.
> Roland had the high score of the rotation with a 9.800 with Castrence right on her heels with a 9.775.
> Senior Tori Edwards scored 9.750 on her vault, while Gray and Schugman rounded out the scores with counting 9.700's.
Bars
> Temple put together a nice bars rotation to finish the meet, as the Owls combined for a 48.575, their second highest score of the season.
> Gray matched her season and career high with a 9.775 to lead Temple, while Oster tallied a 9.750.
