Lacrosse Defeats #12 Towson 12-8 In First Ranked Win Since 2018

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple lacrosse team captured a key victory over No. 12 Towson 12-8 Wednesday afternoon. This marks the first ranked opponent the Owls have defeated since March 18, 2018, when they defeated No. 22 Denver. This is also the highest-ranked win in Temple lacrosse history.
Recapping the Game
> Towson opened the game with a goal from Kerri Thornton at the 2:16 minute mark.
> The Owls proceeded to score the next five goals unanswered. Belle Mastropietro, Meghan Hoffman (2), Jen Rodzewich, and Bridget Whitaker all scored.
> The Tigers responded with a pair of goals from Nikki Sliwak to make the score 5-3.
> Temple added another from Hoffman and Kara Nakrasius to go up 7-3 at the half.
> Towson's scored first in the second half off a goal from Blair Pearre. They would not score again for over 20 minutes.
> The Owls caught fire, scoring the next five goals in under ten minutes. Hoffman scored two and assisted on two others during this run to secure a 12-4 lead
> Towson added a pair of quick strikes to end the run, but could not keep the momentum going.
