3.12.21 | Women's Gymnastics
TOWSON, M.D. — The Temple gymnastics team keeps getting better and better. The Owls set a new season best score of 195.925 tonight to defeat Towson (195.400) on the road. The 195.925 is the best road score in program history, smashing the previous road record, while also standing as the second highest overall score in school history.
Meet Notes
> Temple's score was just .125 off of the program record of 196.050 set at home in 2018.
> The Cherry & White's previous road score record was a 195.075, which the team surpassed by .850 tonight.
> Originally scheduled to be a tri-meet, George Washington was pulled from competition during warm-ups due to Covid contact tracing.
> Temple kept its scheduled starting rotation of floor, vault, bars, and beam, unusual in a dual meet, but the team used it to their advantage, starting on their two best events.
> The Owls hit season-best totals on vault (49.075) and bars (49.025), with the vault score standing as the third highest in program history and the bars score, the fifth highest.
