Moore Sets School Record in Day Two of Black and Gold Invite

ORLANDO – Redshirt senior Grace Moore returned to the track for the first time in over a year only to shatter the Temple women's track and field record in the 3000m.Â
Meet Highlights
> In her first time competing since February 2020, Moore crossed the finish line first in the 3000m with her career-best time of 9:21.61 to set a new school record in the event. The Merrick, N.Y. native beat Kira von Ehren's 2019 record by over 30 seconds.Â
> Sophomore Tannekee Strachan opened the day once again for the Owls with her sixth-place finish in the triple jump, landing at 11.72m.
> The 4x100m relay followed as the young quartet of freshmen Lauren Greig, Chidumga Nkulume and Jewel Ofotan and sophomore Chelby Elam recorded a third-place finish with a time of 47.83.
> Junior Emma Seifried also shined in the 3000m with her third-place time of 10:24.11.
> In the 400m, junior Marissa White clocked in at 56.23 to earn second-place.Â
> Elam led the way for Temple in the 100m with her 10th-place time of 12.11, tying Ofotan's 11th-place time. Greig and Nkulume followed at 13th and 14th, respectively, with times of 12.12 and 12.13.
> Freshman Lea Kerbiriou saw success in the 800m, clocking in at 2:11.13 for a second-place finish.Â
> The Owls ended the day on a high note as the quartet of Nkulume, White, Mary Olayinka Ilelaboye and Mallorie Smith won the 4x400m relay with their time of 3:51.32.
