Track and Field Sets New Records at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Two new program records were set and one first-place finish was recorded for the Temple track and field team in the first two days of the Raleigh Relays at Paul H. Derr Track.

Meet Highlights
> Late Thursday evening, Michelle Joyce ran a 35:09.98 in the 10,000m to break the program record by 12 seconds. The senior broke Jenna Dubrow's previous record of 35:21.46 from 2019. 
> Aisha Brown opened Friday's events with a first-place finish in the high jump. Her mark of 1.75m was her best finish of 2021. 
> In the 1500m, Helene Gottlieb finished 27th with a time of 4:28.76 followed by Lea Kerbiriou at 34th with her mark of 4:30.94. 
> Grace Moore finished sixth out of 87 runners in the 5000m as she crossed the finish line at 15:47.98. The redshirt senior broke Blanca Fernandez's 2016 record of 16:09.84 to set a new program best.

> Tomorrow, the final day of the Raleigh Relays, Gottlieb, Kerbiriou and Alanna Lally will compete in the 800m. Emma Gee will close out the meet in the 3000m steeplechase.  
> Back in Philadelphia, the rest of the Owls squad will compete at the Penn Challenge at Franklin Field.
