PHILADELPHIA- The Temple lacrosse team lost to No. 11 Florida 17-7) Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Owls fall to 4-3 (0-2 AAC) while the Gators improve to 5-2 (2-0 AAC).

Recapping the Game
> Temple struck first, grabbing an early 1-0 lead off a goal from team scoring leader Belle Mastropietro.
> Florida scored the next seven straight to jump out to a 7-1 lead, with 2020 All-American Shannon Kavanagh scoring two and assisting on one.       
> The Owls scored two twice at the end of the half to trim the lead. Jen Rodzewich netted the first, while Bridget Whitaker notched the second to make the score 7-3 at the break.
> After the Gators opened scoring in the second half, Temple continued their momentum with goals from Meghan Hoffman and Jackie Cerchio to cut the lead down to three.
> Florida went on another run soon after, with the Gators scoring five straight to extend the lead back to eight with seven minutes remaining.
> Rodzewich attempted to lead a rally with her second goal of the match, but Florida quickly countered with a goal of their own. 
> Cerchio scored with 1:33 remaining to seal the match.

Statistically Speaking
> Rodzewich and Cerchio led the Owls with two goals each. Mastropietro, Hoffman, and Whitaker each scored once.
> Mackenzie Roth tied her career-high with two assists, while Mastropietro added one as well.
> Despite the losses, Temple won the draw control battle in both matches against the Gators (13-10).
> Shana Hecht made 10 saves, tying the second-best mark of her career.
