Golf Sitting in 7th Place after First Day at Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Temple Golf had a solid first day of play at the Golden Horseshoe Intercollegiate Monday, shooting a two-round total of 589 to place seventh among the 16-team field.  The Owls are only 13 strokes behind third place Richmond and 17 shots behind the leader VCU (574).

Recapping the Day
> Seniors Dawson Anders and Peter Bradbeer led the Owls on the day, tying for 16th overall with five-over 145s.  Both golfers shot identical two-over 72 scores in the morning round and three-over 73s in the afternoon.  
> Sophomore Graham Chase had similar consistent rounds for the Cherry and White, recording a three-over 73 and five-over 75 to tie for 31st at 148.   
> Junior Buddy Hansen, who struggled in the morning (80), shot his best round of college golf in the afternoon session, a two-over 72, to lead Temple. He is tied for 57th overall with a 12-over 152.   
> Junior Conor McGrath, who entered play with the team's best stroke average (73.3), had his worst collegiate round (83) in the morning. He recovered in the afternoon with six-over 76 and is tied for 73rd among the 89-player field.

The Field
> VCU leads the tournament with a 14-over 574.  Old Dominion is three strokes back in second (577) with Richmond (578) a close third.  
> Old Dominion's Jakob Henriksson (-2) leads Richmond's Lou Baker (-1) by one stroke.  They are the only two golfers under par after the first two rounds. 

Statistically Speaking
> Anders, Bradbeer and Chase led Temple with six birdies each.  Only 10 golfers had more on the day.
> Anders is tied for the tournament lead on par-3 holes, carding a three-under while Bradbeer was Temple's best golfer on par-4 holes, tying for third at even par. 
> Hansen led the Owls with 22 pars and was solid on the par-5 holes where he shot an even par.
