Castrence Re-Sets Temple All-Around Record on Alumni Night

PHILADELPHIA -- Temple gymnast Ariana Castrence further entrenched herself into the Owls' record book on Friday night, re-setting her own All-Around record as the Cherry and White hosted a tri-meet at McGonigle Hall. The junior scored a program best 39.350 as Temple (194.175) took third against George Washington (195.700) and Towson (195.550) on Alumni Night.
Record-Breaking
> Castrence tallied high scores across the board, winning the all-around title and tying for the event titles on bars and floor. She finished with a 9.800 on vault, a 9.875 on bars (tying a career high), a 9.800 on beam, and a 9.875 on floor.
> Her 39.350 bested her previous program record of 39.275, which she set on January 18, 2020.

> Temple tallied a season-best effort on bars, going 48.925, while compiling the second-best floor score of the season and in program history with a 49.275.
> However, the Owls' had a lower than usual vault rotation with a 48.250 and a rough beam rotation (47.725) accounting for the final score.
