Strong Second Round Has Golf Tied for Ninth at Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – Temple Golf found its swing in the second round of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate Monday. After finishing the morning round in 14th place, the Owls recovered with a four-over 284 in the afternoon to move up five spots and tie for ninth in the 15-team field. The tournament is being held at the Palmetto Golf Club on a par-70, 6,617-yard course.
Recapping the Day
> Junior Conor McGrath, who is tied for 19th at even par, led the Owls with a two-over 72 to start the day before firing a two-under 68 in the afternoon round. He had a team best seven birdies to go along with an eagle on hole 10 of his afternoon round.
> Senior Dawson Anders (+7, t44th) recovered from an eight-over morning round with a one-under 69 in the afternoon. He had four birdies on his final 18, making two on his first three holes.
> Senior transfer Peter Bradbeer, tied with Anders at seven-over, was the most consistent of the Owls five, carding rounds of 74 and 73. He made a team-high 20 pars while sinking five birdies.
> Sophomore Graham Chase (+9, t56th) had the team's best opening round, a one-over 71, but struggled through an eight-over 78 in the afternoon.
> Junior Buddy Hansen (+13, 70th) rebounded from a nine-over first round with a four-over 74 to end the day. He made his first collegiate eagle on the par-5 10th hole in his final round to go along with a birdie.

> Defending champion and eighth-ranked Clemson (540) leads UNC-Wilmington (544) by four strokes. Furman (548) and host USC-Aiken (552) are next with VCU (555) still within striking distance.
