Crew Takes Home Kerr Cup, Racks Up Five Wins

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's crew team kept rolling today as they took home the Kerr Cup this afternoon while racking up five wins in total throughout the day.
The Varsity Eight boat continued to show that they are a force to reckoned with as the crew won both of its races, making it four straight to open the season.
The Second Varsity Eight continued their good run of form as they were able to build off last week's gold medal to notch another win today. The Varsity Four and Third Varsity Eight got in on the action as well as both boats were able to win races.
VARSITY EIGHT
• Raced to a first-place finish in the 11:30 a.m. flight, clocking in at 5:44.13
• Won their second race of the day with a time of 5:41.1 over the Penn Lightweights and Washington College
SECOND VARSITY EIGHT
• Won their second race of the season with a time of 5:49.85 over Penn and Saint Joseph's
VARSITY LIGHTWEIGHT FOUR
• Won their lone race of the day over two Penn boats, clocking in at 6:58.8
THIRD VARSITY EIGHT
• Raced to a first-place finish in the final Third Varsity race of the day with a time of 6:07.0
• Placed second in the 10:00 a.m. Third Varsity race, racing to a time of 6:11.2
FRESHMEN EIGHT
• Took home two second place finishes, the 10:10 a.m Third Varsity Eight race (6:18.3) and the Fourth Varsity Eight race (6:05.6).
VARSITY LIGHTWEIGHT EIGHT
• Raced to a second-place finish in the 10:40 a.m. Second Varsity Eight race, clocking in at 6:01.6
• Placed second in their other race of the day, recording a time of 6:02.1
