Track & Field to Compete in Philly Mets, Princeton Invite this Weekend

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple track and field team will compete in the Philadelphia Metropolitan meet on Saturday, Apr. 24 at Franklin Field before competing in the Princeton Invite on Sunday, Apr. 25. 
 
About the Philly Mets
> The Philly Mets is hosted by the Penn Relays. The traditional Penn Relays were canceled this year due to the ongoing pandemic.
> The collegiate-only track meet will combine traditional Penn Relay events and individual events for qualification purposes.
> Joining Temple in the Division I field is Delaware, La Salle, Penn, Rider, St. Joseph's and Villanova.
> The meet will begin at 2 p.m.

About the Princeton Invite
> Sunday's meet will be Princeton's first competition of the season as Princeton Athletics was awaiting approval to move into Ivy Phase Four, which allows for local competition.
> The meet will begin at 11 a.m at Weaver Stadium. 

Last Time Out
> On Saturday Apr. 18, the Owls competed in the Quaker Invite at Franklin Field. 
> The 4x100m relay squad of Chelby Elam, Chidumga Nkulume, Jewel Ofotan and Marissa White started the meet on a high note with their first-place time of 47.98. 
> Ragan-Lei Phillips followed with a first-place finish of her own in the 100m hurdles, crossing the finish line at a personal-best 15.14.
> In the 400m, Alanna Lally led the Owls with her first-place mark of 56.40, followed closely by White in second at 56.48.
> Elam was the first in the Cherry and White to cross the finish line in the 100m, clocking in at 12.22 for second place. Nkulume followed in third with her mark of 12.48. 
> In the 200m, White recorded a second-place finish at 24.91, followed by Elam's personal-best 25.01 for third. 
> In the heptathlon, Sophia Gulotti recorded a second-place finish in the event with 4260 points. The Wilmington, Del. native finished second and recorded personal bests in all but two events.
> Nicole Castor finished in third place with 4216 points. The rookie earned a first-place finish in the high jump with her mark of 9.09m.
