First-Place Finish from White Highlights Big 5 Meet

PHILADELPHIA – Junior Marissa White was the sole first-place finisher for Temple while four other Owls earned top-three finishes at Saturday afternoon's Big 5 Meet at Franklin Field.
Meet Highlights
> White led the way for the Cherry and White with her first-place time of 55.85 in the 400m. Mallorie Smith finished right behind with a second-place mark of 58.11.
> Chelby Elam finished second in the 100m with a personal-best time of 12.26. She also ran a personal-best in the 200m as she led the Owls with a fifth-place finish of 25.47.
> In the javelin, rookie Nicole Castor registered a third-place mark of 31.27m. Sophia Gulotti finished right behind in fourth after she threw for 25.97m.
> Tannekee Strachan was another Owl to record a personal-best at today's meet as the junior jumped 5.72m in the long jump for a second-place finish.
