Track & Field Hosts Temple Invite Friday Afternoon

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple track and field team will host their first home meet since 2018 on Friday, Apr. 9 at the Temple Sports Complex.

About the Temple Invite
> The two-day meet will be held at both Temple and Penn. The meet will begin Friday at 2 p.m. at Temple, where both jumps and running events will take place. Saturday afternoon at Penn is where the throwing events will be held.
> During a short break on Friday evening, Temple track and field seniors Aisha Brown, Mallorie Smith, Grace Moore, graduate students Emma Gee and Alanna Lally and Temple men's cross country senior Kristian Jensen will be honored for their contributions to the Temple track and field and cross country programs.
> No fans will be permitted at the event due to the amount of participants that will be at the facility.

Last Time Out
> On Saturday, Apr. 3, the Owls competed at the Big 5 Meet at Franklin Field.
> White led the way for the Cherry and White with her first-place time of 55.85 in the 400m. Mallorie Smith finished right behind with a second-place mark of 58.11.
> Chelby Elam finished second in the 100m with a personal-best time of 12.26. She also ran a personal-best in the 200m as she led the Owls with a fifth-place finish of 25.47.
> In the javelin, rookie Nicole Castor registered a third-place mark of 31.27m. Sophia Gulotti finished right behind in fourth after she threw for 25.97m.
> Tannekee Strachan also recorded a personal-best at today's meet in the long jump. The junior jumped 5.72m for a second-place finish.
