Men’s Soccer Travels to Memphis to Start Final Two-Game Road Trip

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's soccer team will head to Memphis to start their final road trip of the 2020 season. The team is coming off their second win against a nationally ranked team this season, beating No. 23 Tulsa 4-1 on the Owls' senior night. The match will not be streamed.

THE OWL POST
> Temple and Memphis were originally scheduled to play on Saturday, March 27, until the match was postponed.
> Earlier this season, the teams dueled it out through two overtimes, with Memphis coming out victorious 1-2, with 1:04 left in the final period.
> The Owls have already tied last season's total for conference wins, with three.
> Through eight games, Junior Jalen Campbell leads the team in both points (7) and goals (3), while Freshman Nigel Griffith leads Temple with three assists.

LAST TIME OUT: TEMPLE 4 vs. No. 23 TULSA 1
> Temple defeated No. 23 Tulsa 4-1 on Senior Night at the Temple Sports Complex.
> Sean Karani set the tone early for the Owls, dribbling between two defenders and scoring his first goal at the 12:08 mark. He added his second goal late in the second half to put Temple up 4-0.
> Griffith scored or assisted on all four Temple goals. At the 21:14 mark of the first half Senior Mickael Borger found Griffith with a beautiful cross in the box and the freshman scored his first goal as an Owl.
> Goalkeeper Eion Gawronski totaled four saves, only allowing a penalty kick goal late in the second half.
> Tulsa had only allowed four goals all season, through seven games.

SCOUTING MEMPHIS
> Last season, Temple beat Memphis in the season series, with both matches ending 2-1 in overtime. The second decision earned the Owls a historic first-ever victory in the AAC tournament.
> The Tigers are 2-6 this season and are coming off a win against USF in two overtimes.  
> Sophomore Emanuel Santos leads the team with two goals on seven through eight games. 
> Richard Mulrooney is in his seventh season at the helm for Memphis, posting a 44-53-15 career record.
