2020-21 Temple Fencing Awards: Epee MVP
6/17/2021
The 2020-21 Epee MVP goes to Sarah Park!
The 2020-21 Fencing Team’s Most Valuable Fencer for the epee squad was sophomore Sarah Park. Sarah is a Management Information Systems major from Milwaukie, Ore. Her season record was 25-12 and included 3-0 records against Northwestern, Air Force, and Johns Hopkins. During a season full of uncertainty, Sarah was a role model for both her squad and the team. She always exhibited the same level of focus whether at practice or on the strip competing. She was able to attend and compete in every dual meet this season with a drive that inspired everyone. Her season results qualified her for the NCAA Championships where she finished in 16th place. In addition, Sarah is a strong student who was named to the Athletic Department President’s Honor Roll for having a Cumulative GPA above a 3.5.

No matter what was happening during a meet, Sarah’s focus was not only on her fencing but also on her teammates and keeping everyone’s head in the game. We are lucky to have her and we cannot wait to see her bring that energy again next season!-- epee coach Melissa Forsythe
