Eoin Gawronski Earns Third Career AAC Goalkeeper of the Week

8.30.21 | Men's Soccer

IRVING, Texas- After earning a clean-sheet against No. 10 Seton Hall Thursday, goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski has been honored by the American Athletic Conference as Goalkeeper of the Week. It is the redshirt freshman's third time claiming the award after winning twice during the 2020-21 season. He was named Second-Team All-Conference at the conclusion of last season, and became the second player in Temple history to win AAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

Gawronski played a key role in earning a 0-0 draw for Temple on Aug. 26. The keeper earned his third shutout in only eight starts for the Owls. He made six saves including an acrobatic stop that saw him leap to the crossbar to deflect a ball bound for the back of the net. His night was highlighted by a key stop in overtime on a penalty kick that would have won Seton Hall the match.

Temple (0-0-1) will be back in action tonight at 7 p.m. as they travel to Piscataway, N.J. to face Rutgers (1-0-0). The match will be streamed on the Big Ten Network +.  They open their home slate on Saturday, Sept. 4 (3 pm) as the Owls face Manhattan.
