Men's Cross Country is Set to Open Their 2021 Season at Temple Invite

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple men's cross country is set to start their 2021 season this Friday, Sept. 3. A shortened season in 2020-2021 due to COVID-19 forced the Owls to only compete in four races. However, the Owls are back on for a full schedule this fall.

The Owls are set to open their season at Belmont Plateau on September 3 at 5:00 P.M. The Temple Invite will host Temple University, Rider University, Jefferson University, and Chestnut Hill College as they compete in an 8k race.

"As the only Big 5 team who still competes on the 8000m course our men take great pride in racing and training at Belmont Plateau. With a large group of freshmen and newcomers most of the men toeing the line on Friday will be racing it for the first time" said head coach James Snyder. "I'm excited to welcome many of our alumni back too so they can have a chance to watch our current team compete for the first time this year."

- The home meet will take place at Belmont Plateau. The men's 8K race is set to begin at 5:00 p.m.
- Competing alongside the Owls are Rider, Jefferson, and Chestnut Hill.
- Temple placed first at both the 2017 and 2018 Temple Invite.
