Women’s Cross Country to Run at Iona Meet of Champions Friday

PHILADELPHIA – After a week off from competition, the Temple University women's cross country team will travel to the Bronx, N.Y. to compete in the Iona Meet of Champions on Friday, Sept. 17. The women's championship 5k is set to begin at 10:45 am at Van Cortlandt Park.

"We are excited to see our women's team compete on Friday. The competition at this meet will be a good test for us, the course being a 5k instead of the typical 6k is exciting for us. We feel our roster is really strong and can put together some really competitive times."

Last Time Out

The Owls last toed the line on Sept. 3 when they started their season off strong with a team win at the Temple Invitational.
A new face in Cherry and White earned a top five finish in the season-opener as freshman Mia Dubac finished in 5^th place with a time of 23:11.7.
Freshman Lea Kerbiriou led the Owls with a time of 22:19.9 for her first collegiate win.
Temple dominated with six of its runners finishing in the top 10.

About the Iona Meet of Champions

The 25th annual Meet of Champions will take place on Friday, Sept. 20 at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, NY. The men's championship 8K race will go off at 10:00 a.m. and the women's championship 5k race will go off at 10:45 a.m.
