Women's Basketball Opens Conference Play Against Cincinnati on Saturday

LAST GAME
> In their last time out, the Owls dropped their third consecutive game at home against the Old Dominion Monarchs.
> The Owls jumped out to a four-point halftime lead, but were unable to hold the advantage as an Old Dominion 12-2 run coming out of the half gave the Monarchs the edge for the rest of the contest.
> Mia Davis: game-high 25 points on 9-15 shooting, six rebounds, three assists
> Aniya Gourdine: 14 points on 6-8 shooting, team-high eight rebounds and five assists
> Alexa Williamson: 11 points
THE OWLS
> The Cherry & White are looking to bounce back after falling in their past three contests, most recently last Wednesday against Old Dominion.
> The Owls have not played a game since Dec. 22 when they fell to Old Dominion at home, 71-68. Three consecutive postponements against La Salle, UCF, and SMU have kept Temple off the court.
> Temple is led by graduate forward Mia Davis. Davis leads the team with 17.2 points per game and 7.6 rebounds per game.
> Last game against Old Dominion, three Owls scored in dougle figures as Davis tied her season-high with 25 points. Gourdine scored 14 points on 6-8 shooting and 2-2 from three-point range.
SCOUTING CINCINNATI
> The Bearcats are coming off a two-game losing streak after dropping contests to Marquette and South Florida. UC had a pair of postponed games in between the two losses.
> Cincinnati is led by junior Akira Levy who leads the team in points (13.8), assists (5.6), and steals (2.6) per game.
> Sophomore Jillian Hayes is the other Bearcat that averages more than 10 points per game. Hayes also leads the team in rebounds and blocks per game.
> In their last game out, the Bearcats opened conference play, dropping their game to the South Florida Bulls, 61-46.
LAST TIME THEY MET
> The last time these two teams met, junior forward Alexa Williamson scored 21 points as the Temple women's basketball team topped Cincinnati 69-53 at Fifth Third Arena on Feb. 3, 2021.
> Temple shot 40% (24-60) from the floor as they scored 40 of their 69 points in the paint.Â
> The Owls never allowed Cincinnati to take the lead besides the opening two minutes of the game.Â
> The Bearcats worked towards a comeback in the third quarter when they tied the game 42-42, but Temple answered with two-straight buckets to put themselves back on top.Â
> Cincinnati held the edge on the boards, pulling down 43 rebounds to the Owls' 38.
