Football Plays in Primetime at Home vs. Tulsa

The Owls will return home for a Friday night fight with Tulsa on October 21, at 7:30pm on ESPN2 and 97.5 The Fanatic. Temple returns home for the first time since its 28-0 shutout of UMass on September 24.
Last Week
Temple lost to the UCF Knights at FBC Mortgage Stadium in Orlando, 70-13. The story of the game was the high-powered Knights offense behind QB John Rhys Plumlee, who threw for 373 yards, while accounting for seven touchdowns.
Last Time vs. Tulsa
The last time Temple played Tulsa was last season when the Owls struggled on the road against the Golden Hurricane, falling 44-10. The Owls got in a hole early on in this one, falling behind by 27 points going into the second half. From there, Temple was unable to claw its way back into the game. QB Justin Lynch made his fourth career start, tossing a touchdown late in the third quarter to Amad Anderson Jr. for Temple's lone touchdown of the night.
Last Time vs. Tulsa at Lincoln Financial Field
The last time Temple played Tulsa in Philadelphia was in 2018, where the Owls opened American Athletic Conference play with a 31-17 win. RB Ryquell Armstead led the ground attack with 108 yards, his seventh career and third straight 100-yard rushing game. QB Anthony Russo made his second career start for the Owls, throwing for 112 yards, as well as running for a touchdown. On the defensive side of the ball, the Owls were Temple TUFF, as they forced five takeaways.
Temple-Tulsa History
The Owls and Golden Hurricane are tied 3-3 all time. Tulsa won the first two meetings in 1987 and 1988, with Temple winning the next three (2014, 2017, 2018) after not playing for 26 years. Tulsa won the most recent match up last season in Oklahoma. The Owls are 2-1 against the Golden Hurricane in games played in Philadelphia.
