Field Hockey Falls 2-0 to No. 14 Old Dominion

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple field hockey team fell 2-0 against No. 14 Old Dominion Friday afternoon. The Owls are now 11-5 (3-3 BIG EAST) and can clinch a spot in the conference tournament with the right set of results around the league tonight.

Recapping the Game
> Old Dominion paced the first quarter. The Monarchs had all three shots and two penalty corners. They scored the first goal of the match with 7:26 left in the first.
> The Owls dominated the second frame. Temple put up all five shots that were fired and both penalty corners. Despite the strong effort, Temple could not break through on offense.
> ODU capitalized on a penalty stroke early in the 3rd to go up 2-0. Temple responded with an offensive push, but the Monarchs' keeper saved a strong chance from Caitlyn Amsden.
> Temple was fast and furious in the final frame. The Owls controlled play with four shots and three penalty corners, but could not get on the board thanks to a strong performance from the Old Dominion keeper. Temple took the match by a score of 2-0.
