McGrath Leads Owls After Second Day of Visit Stockton Invitational

Stockton, Calif.  – Senior Conor McGrath shot a two-under 69 to lead Temple Golf during the second round of competition at the Visit Stockton Invitational.   The Owls were seven strokes better than their first round but continue to sit in 15th place in the 16-team field.  The three-day, 54-hole tournament concludes with a final round Saturday at the 6,566-yard, par-71 Stockton Golf and Country Club.

Recapping the Round
> McGrath made five birdies during his team-leading round and sits tied for 27th overall with a two-under 140.
> Graham Chase shot a two-over 73 to break his streak of seven straight rounds at or below par.  He is second for the Owls and tied for 46th overall with a one-over 143.
> Ethan Whitney also made five birdies on the day, shooting a one-under 70.  He is third on the Owls and tied for 65th overall with a four-over 146.
> Andrew Curran made a three-over 74 to complete the team's scoring while Joey Morganti was two strokes back with a five over 76.

The Field
> Grand Canyon continues to lead the field with an 18-under 550.  UC Irvine is four-strokes back in second (555) while San Jose State (556) sits in third. 
> George Washington's Jakub Hrinda shot a blistering nine-under 62 and leads the field with a 10-under 132.  Matthew Braley from Grand Canyon is one shot back with a nine-under 133.
> The Owls are again paired with Utah Tech and Idaho and tee off from hole 10 at 8:39 am PT.
