Men’s Soccer Looks to Extend Winning Streak Against No. 22/9 Tulsa

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple men's soccer team (4-7-2, 1-5-0 AAC) will look to keep their momentum going as they play host to No.22/9 Tulsa (7-2-2, 3-2-1 AAC). This match will feature a Temple soccer scarf giveaway to the first 200 fans. Attendance is free to all fans; the match will be streamed on ESPN+.
THE OWL POST
> Mike Eijgendaal leads Temple with six assists this season. He is tied for third in the AAC in total helpers and 31st in the NCAA.
> Following a goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over Stony Brook, freshman Sawyer Koza is now tied with Yann Kouemi and Sean Karani for the team lead in goals.
> Draven Barnett became the first player on the Owls to break the 1000-minute barrier last match, he leads the team in minutes with 1005. Elyad Shojaei and Mike Eijgendaal trail closely with 978 and 975, respectively.
> Goalkeeper Eoin Gawronski is ranked 7th nationally in saves per match (5.44). He leads the American the saves per game and is tied for 3rd in American in shutouts (3) despite missing five games due to injury.
SCOUTING TULSA
> Last season, Tulsa was among the best teams in the nation. The Golden Hurricane were a fixture in the top ten, climbing as high as No. 2 at one point. Tulsa finished with a record of 16-2-1 and advance to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament after winning the AAC tournament.
> 2022 has been another fantastic season for the Golden Hurricane. Tulsa is 7-2-2 and has been ranked in the top 25 for the entire season. They are 4-1-1 in their last six games with wins over No. 11 Missouri State and No. 10 Charlotte. They currently sit at second in the AAC table.
> Tulsa has several players that rank among the best in the American. Malik Henry-Scott was a Freshman All-America selection in 2020-21 and was Second-Team All-Conference last season. He currently is tied for sixth in the American in goals (6). Alex Meinhard has arguably been the best player in the AAC the last two seasons, with First-Team All-Region honors in the 2020-21 and 2021, as well as AAC Offensive Player of Year in both seasons as well.
> Tom McIntosh leads Stony Brook in his 28th season. He is the longest-tenured coach in the AAC and has led Tulsa to 12 conference championships in three different conferences. He has coached 530 games for the Golden Hurricane with a record of 283-190-57.
