Golf Ends Fall Season at Visit Stockton Invitational

Stockton, Calif. – Senior Conor McGrath and junior Graham Chase led Temple in their final fall tournament, tying for 26th and 30th among the 93-player field at the Visit Stockton Invitational Saturday. The Owls finished 15th in the 16-team field in the three-day, 54-hole tournament held at the 6,566-yard, par-71 Stockton Golf and Country Club.
Recapping the Round
> Chase was back to form, shooting a one-under 70 to tie McGrath for the team lead. Chase made five birdies on the day in marking his eighth round at-or-below par over his last nine rounds.
> McGrath made three birdies on the day, finishing with a one-over 72. He played his back nine at two-under to recover from a three-over front nine.
> Ethan Whitney and Joey Morganti each finished the day with four-over rounds of 75. Both had two birdies for their final round with Whitney shooting an eight-over 220 to tie for 66th while Morganti was 14-over and in 89th place.
> Andrew Curran shot an eight-over 79 and finished with a 17-over 223 to place 91st.
The Field
> Grand Canyon won the team title, finishing with a 22-under 830. UC Irvine and Washington State tied for second, four strokes off the lead at 834.
> George Washington's Jakub Hrinda took medalist honors, finishing with a 14-under 199 score to defeat Grand Canyon's Parker Reddig by four strokes (-10, 203).
