Track and Field Travels to Boston For Regular Season Finale

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple track and field team travels to Boston, Mass. this weekend for the David Hemery Valentine Invite. The meet will conclude the regular season for the Owls before traveling to Birmingham, Ala. for the American Athletic Conference Championships on Feb. 25-26.
About the David Hemery Valentine Invite
The women's long jump and triple jump events open the weekend at 10:30am on Friday. After that, the running events begin with the 60m hurdles at 10:40am followed by the 400m at 11:15am.
Later in the day, the 200m and 100m sprints start at 12:50pm and 2:00pm, respectively. Last but not least, the distance runs end the day with the 4x400 relay and the 800m events.
Last Time Out
Tannekee Strachan stole the headlines as she broke the school record for the triple jump with a mark of 12.93 meters. The performance earned Strachan the top spot at the meet, she bested second-place who came in at 12.46 meters. Strachan broke the school record by over two feet.
The day before, Strachan also set a personal best and placed top-10 in the long jump with a mark of 5.71 meters.
Elsewhere throughout the event, both Sophia Gulotti and Nicole Castor earned personal-best scores in the pentathlon with scores of 3381 and 3207, respectively.Â
In the 400-meter dash, Marissa White narrowly missed her personal-best time while placing seventh out of 60 runners with a time of 56.30.
