No. 9 Fencing to Compete at Duke Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - The No. 9 Temple fencing team is set for its penultimate dual meet of the season, heading to the Tar Heel State for the Duke Invitational.

The Owls most recently went 9-3 at the Northwestern Multi Meet, seeing a 5-2 mark on day one and a 4-1 mark on day two. The team earned two wins against top-10 teams, defeating No. 12 Stanford 17-10 and No. 8 Northwestern 14-13 in a close match.

Sophomore Alexandra Weinberg had an impressive outing, going 15-10 to lead the saberists both days. Anastasia Yankovskiy (foil) went 11-8, Ashley Cherry (epee) went 12-5, and Sara Proctor (epee) went 12-10. Every saberist posted a winning record on day two while every epeeist saw a mark of .500 or better on day one.

The Cherry and White will once again see top competition, facing No. 12 Duke, RV Boston College, No. 14 UNC, Air Force, and RV Brandeis. The Duke Invitational will begin at 8 a.m. in the Card Gym.
