Field Hockey Announces Spring Schedule

PHILADELPHIA - Coming off the first season under head coach Michelle Vittese, the Temple field hockey team will look to continue its improvement with an exciting spring schedule. The Owls will compete on five dates, with three tournaments and three dates on North Broad highlighting the slate.
"It is with great excitement that we release our Spring 2022," Vittese said. "Our fall season was inspiring and we are looking forward to a competitive spring semester where we can continue to build on our recent success. The schedule is filled with top competition that will challenge and expand our capabilities. We planned the five dates with the intent to develop both individually and collectively, as well as to continue to develop the Temple field hockey identity."
The Owls went 8-11 (4-3 BIG EAST) in 2021, advancing to the BIG EAST Conference Tournament for the second-straight year. Temple also defeated then-No. 20 UConn, the first time the team has defeated the Huskies since 1989 and the first time the team has defeated a ranked opponent since 2016. 2021 also marked the first time since 2015 that the Cherry and White has seen a winning season in conference play and the team's best RPI finish since 2014.
